The Saturday morning Breakfast Club is open to all Sunset Ranch members.  Breakfast Club begins on Saturday, April 17, 2021.

This Season the Pro Shop has a new computer program called Golf Genius.  The program enables all leagues to register members and allow those members to book online for weekly play.

The link to Golf Genius at the top of this page allows you to register to get your name on the Breakfast Club list.  Once you have registered for the season, you will receive a confirmation email from Golf Genius.  Here you can see where to register, calendars, tee times, analysis, and standings.

After you have registered, you can enter on a weekly basis and add your name to our Saturday game.  When you sign up with Golf Genius for any Saturday, you will receive a confirmation email for that week.

If you have any trouble registering, please call Cody at the Pro Shop (250-765-7700) for assistance.

  • Covid restricts our method of payment.  There will be an automatic charge of $6 to your account and any winnings will be added to your Credit Book.
  • All scorecards must be handed in to the Pro Shop immediately after your round is complete.
  • Please arrive 20 minutes prior to your tee time.
  • The Breakfast Club is for MEMBERS ONLY.
  • If you need to cancel, you can do this from the Breakfast Club website.  Every effort should be made to do this before the cut-off date.  Golf Genius will send you an email confirming your cancellation.  To cancel after the cut-off date, please contact the Pro Shop.
  • Please register ASAP.

Breakfast Club Format

The Breakfast Club format is a version of the 'Chicago' game and is called "39".

Each player will subtract their course handicap from 39 and the resultant number is that player's "hurdle" they must overcome. Points are awarded on each hole based on GROSS scores and all points earned are deducted from the players "hurdle".

For example a player with a 12 handicap would have a hurdle of 27 (39-12). All points scored are deducted from the 27 on the following gross scores:

  • Double Bogie or worse = -1 points
  • Bogie = 1 point
  • Par = 2 points
  • Birdie = 3 points
  • Eagle = 4 points

The goal is to finish the 18-hole round with the lowest number of points.

10 players receive Breakfast Club points each Saturday (unless there is a tie in the "Low Player 10" position). The following example demonstrates how ties will be handled under the new "Biglow" rule.

SAMPLE SCORES
Low Player 1:
Score of -2 points receives 10 Breakfast Club points
Low Player 2: Score of -2 points receives 10 Breakfast Club points
Low Player 3: Score of 1 point receives 8 Breakfast Club points
Low Player 4: Score of 2 points receives 7 Breakfast Club points
Low Player 5: Score of 2 points receives 7 Breakfast Club points
Low Player 6: Score of 2 points receives 7 Breakfast Club points
Low Player 7: Score of 3 points receives 4 Breakfast Club points
Low Player 8: Score of 4 points receives 3 Breakfast Club points
Low Player 9: Score of 6 points receives 2 Breakfast Club points
Low Player 10: Score of 6 points receives 2 Breakfast Club points

The player's total points are the sum of their highest 6 points scored throughout the season.
